| lite-on 16x dvd-rom under other name. does anyone know if any other company sell this model-meaning rebagged lite-ons.thanks |

| Hi: -Memorex DVD-MAXX1648 (16X/48X) 0.47 BTC BDV-316B OEM drive -Memorex DVD-MAXX1648 AJ (16X/48X) (Known firmware : GWH2) Liteon LTD-163 OEM drive Note that the last "AJ" means LiteON rebagged drive. My DVD-ROM is the "AJ" model and I have flashed it succesfully to the lastest LiteON LTD-163 firmware, (GH5P). Sal-U2 from Spain

| Some of the CenDynes are rebadged LTR-163Ds. (My box says 16x/40x, but the drive is 16x/48x). Not sure if all of the CenDyne 16x tray-load DVD-ROM drives are Lite-On or not, but the few I've opened are. The slot load models were Pioneer and I read somewhere that they can't be made region free. |

| Heard somewhere that even Sony DVD-ROMs are re-badged Lite-Ons. Sony Burners from 24x are re-badged Lite-Ons for sure.
