Does any one have an IHAS224? If so, could I get a copy of the firmware?

I also purchased this drive about 2 weeks ago--no info from HP. Can you tell me what I need to do to change the firmware to lite-on and how do you do that? And where does one obtain the flash utility and the firmware? Thanks

Hi Lennie Paz. The drive is a LiteOn iHAS224 A.

Here's the LiteOn firmware:
http://codeguys.rpc1.org/firmwares/d...ZL0A.stock.rar

It can be flashed with the Flash Utility v3.03. Just select the EXE file (extracted from the RAR file), when the Flash Utility asks for the firmware to flash.

See my signature for the link to the Flash Utility thead.

as lennie says i cant burn at 2.4x with memorex DVD+R DL (Disc ID: RITEK-S04-66). here is what happens.
Code:
I 00:47:44 Destination Device: [6:0:0] ATAPI iHAS224 A ZL0A (I:) (RAID)
I 00:47:44 Destination Media Type: DVD+R DL (Disc ID: RITEK-S04-66) (Speeds: 4x, 6x, 8x)
I 00:47:44 Write Speed: 2.4x
W 00:47:44 Write Speed Miscompare! - Wanted: 3,324 KB/s (2.4x), Got: 5,540 KB/s (4x)
I 01:12:34 Average Write Rate: 5,368 KB/s (3.9x) - Maximum Write Rate: 5,647 KB/s (4.1x)
does anybody know of a firmware hack i can use to make it burn at 2.4? it burns the Verbatim (Disc ID: MKM-001-00) at 2.4x with no problems

Drive should be SATA, not RAID.

thats what the stupid PCI Express card labels it as. it operates just fine though. i have 2 of them one on that card and one on the motherboard.

Code:
I 20:58:47 Destination Device: [0:1:0] ATAPI iHAS224 A ZL0A (H:) (ATA)
I 00:47:44 Destination Device: [6:0:0] ATAPI iHAS224 A ZL0A (I:) (RAID)

Your controller card is configured as RAID. A non-RAID operation mode would be better.

you are correct. the reason i called it a stupid card is because it wont let me switch. there are no options. while booting i press F4 to see the drive(s) connected to it. there's just this one burner and i can't change any of the modes. i am looking at a motherboard upgrade with many more SATA ports. 6 is not enough anymore.

What card is that? In case it has a Silicon Image chipset, there is a chance you can load a non-Raid card Bios.
