LiteOn / PLDS / Sony Writer Discuss, Flashing went wrong!!!! at CD and DVD Writers forum; So, probably somebody mentioned this before, I'm new here so couldnt find that, if anybody knows the link send it please!!! i flashed my sony U18A dvd writer to a liteOn 812s. i did eveerything u suggest on the forum and downloaded all the necessary software. but still there is

So, probably somebody mentioned this before, I'm new here so couldnt find that, if anybody knows the link send it please!!!

i flashed my sony U18A dvd writer to a liteOn 812s. i did eveerything u suggest on the forum and downloaded all the necessary software. but still there is no change...
i put a cd, dvd in my drive it starts spinning but then it stops and nothing happens. then i flashed it to 823s orange light was blinking nothing worked so i flashed it back to 812s...
still nothing works...
i cant open or burn cd's or dvd's of any kind!!!!!

Please help fast!!!! i have 120gb hard drive with 80gb of movies i cant get rid of

Take a look at this link see if the flash software will allow you to clear your firmware to replace with the correct one. It shoudl be the 20 thread saying "Read First" look in there to see if it will help you.

It's a rebadged Liteon 812s drive. Very, very old.

i checked out the post but dont understand a thing, like i sad i'm new here and new at flashing so PLEASE!!!! did anyone have similar problems, and how did he solw them

Buy a nice new drive, capable of burning the newest media, with prices these days I wouldn't try to revive an old drive anymore. If you are in such a hurry, look around for a nice shiny 20A3 or 20A4.
