I have a Lite-ON iHAS324-98 B drive that I updated to AL1B from AL1A. I am using the correct bin files and I am not an idiot but when I attempt to Write Flash using iXtreme burner fw, i get the following error message:

Welcome to the forums.

You'll get better answers in our Lite-on forum Arseman03, so I'm moving your thread in there.

Re: Error writing FLASH to drive!

Have you 100% verified that this modified firmware is applicable to your individual drive? The exact model # (as you reported) does matter.
There are several iHAS324 versions which are not compatible firmware wise.

Re: Error writing FLASH to drive!

I'm having the exact same problem! Followed the tut. to a T. I have the iHAS324 B. I pulled all data off the 11mb iextreme max download. I was told to run this in Windows XP, and someone else said to change bios to IDE where I'm running RAID--changing to IDE causes crash. Is there any other info. I can provide? Been at this for a while now.

Thx in advance.

Re: Error writing FLASH to drive!

Hi and Welcome!

sorry for being late.

Your drive does still work (with stock firmware)? Then all is fine.
Apart from that, having an optical drive connected to storage controllers in RAID configuration IS calling for trouble. At least you should know what you are doing. You might read the manual of your motherboard if there are Sata ports that can be configured separately (many modern AMD boards support this option). Otherwise you might consider installing an add-on Sata controller card with non-RAID bios.

Re: Error writing FLASH to drive!

Got myself a 324b model, found that it would not flash when conected directly to my PC. So I used a usb adapter to connect the drive via usb and flashed with no issues.

I used this to connect drive to PC:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/IOMAX-SATA-A...9671378&sr=8-1

Costs around £20, but is very useful to have. All you need is this and a sata cable. Should flash without any issues.

Burned ok so games work fine with lt3.0.

Re: Error writing FLASH to drive!

Hi and Welcome!

Glad you found a solution for your problem. I guess, there was either an incompatible Sata controller used, or some misconfiguration or driver issue caused these compatibility issues.
