Did you flash your drive using the official BYX3 or BYX4 flashers at any point in time? The official BYX3/BYX4 flashers are, um, shall we say... special, and will auto-convert the EEPROM from a 33S to a 53S. Ssssshhh!Quote:Originally Posted by chok0why is my dru710a@official CS0P already a 1653s?__________________

1/ Use the Upgrade Drive function.Quote:Originally Posted by mcbytewhat steps are needed to do the upgrtade drive function?
2/ Use a flashfixed stock or patched firmware from our site to flash to the new model you have selected. After that you can use official firmware, if you want, or continue to use patched firmware.
Yes.Quote:after doing the upgrade, will the EEPROM tool itself detect the drive as the newer model (Where it puts "<-- this drive")? __________________

It means you can use official firmware without any patches, so you don't have to wait for us to post an unscrambled version to try a new releaseQuote:Originally Posted by espressoOriginal 1653 eeprom enables using stock encrypted firmwares? What's the benefit of that?
.
You will however still have to wait for the unscrambled version to apply any other patches
.
Edit: Maybe you meant your drive is already a 1653S. If so, there is no real benefit from this function, to 1653S owners, unless you prefer 1213S firmware

. Sorry about that. It only affects using the upgrade drive function on an 812S or 832S eeprom/drive.
Try v3.0.4, now released

C0deKing, is v3.0.4 supposed to work with OEM 812S's?
The reason I ask :
Tried on my 812S = worked.
Tried on my DW-U18A(OEM 812S) = Invalid checksum__________________

Thanks. That's really weird. The checksum in that EEPROM is competely wrong on all four counts. I checked my U18A EEPROM, which was dated 2 months before yours and the checksum was as it should be, for an 812S. Any idea what might have happened to it?
I'll send you back your one with the checksum fixed.

That is strange. From memory, the drive has been only flashed once from UYS1 to UYS4.
Anyway, your FIXED EEPROM did the trick. Many, Many thanks.
