You should be able to flash either 124 or 324 with 24B1ST firmware from Asus through the Flash Utility. 2601 has done it here.

Get CD-DVD Speed 4.7.7.16 SE3
Change Buffer Size in CD-DVD Speed
Enable SolidBurn in CD-DVD Speed
Enable Samsung Scanning in CD-DVD Speed
Remove upper and lower filters
Check Silicon Image add-on controller cards

According to 2601 you can flash the 124 with the .bin FW and flash utility. The 324 needs a EEPROM mod. I was going to purchase a 124 to crossflash.
