Backup Red Alert 2 with LTR-40125S - HELP!

I'm trying to backup my copies of Red Alert 2 and Yuri's Revenge, but am having quite a bit of difficulty.

I have the following setup:

LiteOn LTR-40125S
Firmware: ZS0K
CloneCD Version: 4.0.1.10

My understanding is that RA2 uses SafeDisc 2.51. So far, I've tried the default CCD game profile, the "SafeDisc 2(.51) [AWS]" profile from CD Freaks, and the ClonyXXL 2.0.0.6 suggested settings. All have yeilded coasters. I'm getting quite frustrated at this point...does anyone have any suggestions, or had any luck with this setup??

Your writer can copy these games easily but you should disable AWS. On many writers which, like yours, don't need AWS, using AWS results in a coaster.

Btw, RA2 was the first sd2 game released and doesn't use sd2.51 (I think it's something like 2.06).

Backups of Red Alert 2 and Yuri's load SLOWLY

I successfully made backups of Red Alert 2 and Yuri's Revenge using the "SafeDisc (2) [no AWS]" profile from CDFreaks, which uses the following settings:

[CloneCD ReadPrefs]
ReadSubData=0
RegenerateData=0
ReadSubAudio=0
AbortOnReadError=0
FastErrorSkip=1
ReadSpeedData=0
ReadSpeedAudio=0
IntelligentBadSectorScan=0
SectorSkip=100
NoErrorReport=0
FirstSessionOnly=0
AudioQuality=0

[CloneCD WritePrefs]
DontRepairSubchannelData=0
AlwaysCloseLastSession=1
AmplifyWeak=0
WriteSpeed=0

Both RA2 and Yuri's will autoplay, install, and run. HOWEVER, they both take an exceedingly long time to load up (it takes about 5 minutes from when I launch the program until I get to the main menu). Additionally, for an example, when I start a single player skirmish, it takes an additional 5 minutes to load before I can actually play. I'm pretty sure it's not my system, as I'm running an Athlon XP 1700+, 768MB PC2100, WD1200JB, & GeForce3 Ti200. Is there something wrong with the way I burned the game, or might there indeed be a hardware problem?

The slow loading times are probably media related. Try slowing down the burning speed, using a better quality media or both.

Hmm, well, I originally burned it on a Fuji 24X Certified 80min (with the light greenish-blue bottom) CDR, I think at 12X speed, with AWS off (and when I ripped it, fast error skip was on).

Is this particular media low quality, or is it good enough that the problem I'm having isn't media related? Would burning at say, 8X, cut down the loading times, or should I go even slower?

Well, I tried burning again at 2x, but it made no difference. I even uninstalled & reinstalled with the new copy, but the loading is still painfully slow.

Could the problem be with the way I ripped the game? I had fast error skip set to "on" rather than "auto"...would that have made a difference?

This is not your burner, its actually a bug in the game. When yuris revenge was first released there was allsorts of problems with load times. Westwood told me to put my red alert disc into one drive and my yuris revenge into the other and voila the load times came back to what they should be. Shortly after that i was told they brought a patch out to fix the problem, but i never installed it. Goodluck
cheers
