Actually even as a consumer i'd be interesting in such a solution. Just imagine a 760-style drive with - for example - a calibrating-option for exact quality scans. Now that would be interesting, even if it came at quadruple the cost of a 760.

They did something like this with the PlexMaster drive a few years ago. It was a specially optimised version of the PX820 drive for audio mastering which was sold through a specialist distributor. Unfortunately it didn't sell well so I doubt that they will be doing something like that again. The Premium was a much better compromise in terms of cost versus features which is now an almost essential tool in most audio mastering studios.
