Drive manufacturing: It wouldn't be an uninteresting thing to know whether Pioneer is a manufacturer or not. Does anybody know that?

They did something like this with the PlexMaster drive a few years ago. It was a specially optimised version of the PX820 drive for audio mastering which was sold through a specialist distributor. Unfortunately it didn't sell well so I doubt that they will be doing something like that again. The Premium was a much better compromise in terms of cost versus features which is now an almost essential tool in most audio mastering studios.
