The attached picture should give you an impression what i meant when saying that there was not really too much correlation between PX712 and PX716 jitter scans...

PlexTools don't shows jitter absolute values at all. Jitter scale isn't graduated, PT only makes relative High-Low marks. Jitter scale also is adaptive and may shift during test. We can see jitter change within one disk, but we can't compare jitter value from two different disks.

That is not true. The PlexTools are moving the graph around to add even more confusion, but whatever kind of scale the drive itself is using is not adaptive

I have in view this: scale-division value is constant, but PT moves up graph level when jitter value has decreased during test.

Some consecutive shots while test running:

i can see a pretty obvious correlation btw the jitter graphs in zevia's benq and plextor scans. the plextools is much more pronounced but the dips and rises correlate.

about getting a benq, im in the same boat as Two Degrees

It took almost an hour to run the FE/TE test on that MCC004 disc?

And how can it take only 10 minutes to run a test at 2x? Is middle accuracy skipping *that* much?

the FE/TE test time is wrong...not sure why that happened. possibly because i canceled and restarted it really quickly. and yup, middle accuracy skips quite a bit...you can tell by watching the LSN value while the test is running.

Yeah, I was wondering about that too. If you read just every second block, some pikes can be missed. Good Accuracy seems to be the 'real' 2X CLV test because it takes around 27 minutes.

Good Accuracy only takes about 15 minutes. High Accuracy doesn't skip any blocks and is the one that takes about a half-hour to copmlete.

Burner: PX-712A
Firmware: 1.05
Media: Verbatim 8x DVD+R (MCC003)
Burn Speed: 8x
Burning Software: Nero CD-DVD Speed 3.61

These discs are pretty variable. I have a 100 disc spindle of them that I'll be taking back due to extremely high PIE errors at the end of the discs. This particular disc is from a 50 disc spindle and turned out very well. Both the 50 and 100 disc spindles were made at the CMC plant; they need to work on the QC there.

If so, I can't change Accuracy in PlexTools. I selected Good Accuracy and it always takes around 28 minutes.

That's OK, but I've set it to Good Acccuracy and my tests take 27-28 mins.

Maybe because I run these test 'Track based' instead of 'Range based'?

I was saving the scans to .png files, and I couldn't figure out why I was getting the scan info. saved with it.(like you all post) I saved it to HTML and did a screen capture on the SUM1 test. Is there an easier way or is that how you all do it?
