| I'm wanting to use Mediacodespeededit but i can't download the firmwire for it from the plextor site says there is no updates anyone have any ideas? |

| I've been to that website it says the 850A is supported but that page still doesn't have a link to the firmware download, I've went to the plextor site and it doesn't let you download the firmware unless it has a update for it. Where it's a new drive it don't have a update yet. |

| I'm surprised Plextor is still in the burning game. After going through 7 Plextors (CD and DVD writers) I have lost faith in their products.

| I post both a quality scan of a single layer DVD, and a dual layer dvd. Single layer media used: Verbatim MCC 03 RG20 (average burn speed 12x) Dual Layer media used: Ritek-S04-66 burned at 4x (I chose max, the drive never exceeded this speed) Both drives are encased in external enclosures, and attached via a USB hub. I am aware this is a half assed attempt, but its all I got. If anybody wants me to do a specific test, please name it. I will keep testing burns at random for quality, but I'm not impressed, specially not after seeing the quality scans of my 7200. I am planning on giving the 7200 away to a friend and get me a 7240 though.
