| I was about to say there was the original thread, but perhaps it got lost. I posted a bunch there when I still used my 716a for burning. TwoDegrees, seems the MCC burned very well in the Plextor, something I never saw (I got PIF in the 1,750-2,500 range with mine). Good burn.

| New stuff: Went to Staples, and i decide to try Mmore +R 16X... It`s a pack of 10 untis, with a reference to Makrolon, of Bayer  Burner: Plextor 716 Speed: 12X Nero:6.0.6.1.6.  It reals Too bad. I was trying to get a MCC004 stuff Mordorr

| Well, for OptodiscR16, these don't seem too bad, not with the 809 PIF total. Of course, it would be nice to see a more level jitter on average from these, after it steadily increases after the 0.6 gb point. It's a shame you don't have a LiteOn 1693s or another more recent model, because I'd like to see how this scans in that, and see how the LiteOn reports the PIF on these. Despite that, I commonly see Optodisc (at least some of the Optodisc mids) with those higher PIF spikes at the first ~1.5 gb of the media, which is fairly common.

| Hmmm.... I used to see that "V" with earlier firmware (1.04) on Sony media: http://club.cdfreaks.com/showpost.ph...&postcount=413 http://club.cdfreaks.com/showpost.ph...&postcount=414 but never since. I've seen it totally ruining a burn (leading to a read error) on a 708a once. |

| Plextor 716a early model, not the 0000 this one is 0101 but loaded 1.10 fw yuden media real stuff fuji brand yuden-T02 8x at 16x time to burn 6:02 data disc

| Wow. The 716 "craps out" to 12x on the T03 and tyg03. How sad. Either the f/w write strat is still lacking, or Plextools is a bit too conservative. Granted, I've yet to see a really good result from T03 on any burner in terms of both PIE (especially) AND PIF (but this is usually good, hovering around ~250 PIF total) at 16x. The T02 result is typical (in terms of PIE) of 16x burns I let Plextools burn it at (when I was new to burning and didn't realize it). However, using the media quality check, I maybe had one batch of Fuji yuden000t02-00, where maybe 25% would test good for 12x and burn the same quality as as a 716a 8x burn. Mostly the 716 only burns it well at 8x otherwise.

| Quema 34 I find my plex 716a does very well on yuden T02 at rated speed, I have not burned lot on it since i got my BenQ 1655 or my pioneer 111 but as this was new fw for plex i thought id give a 16x test a go on yuden
