Very nice Two Degrees. I guess I should have stated that the first scan posted in a new thread should leave some room for improvement.

This one is equal to Two Degrees' scans above in my opinion, but since we're using different drives for the scans it's impossible to know.

None of the 712A drives I've owned ever really did that great with this MID, but this isn't a bad burn. Discs were made in Taiwan by CMC Magnetics, lot number ZD4845-DVR-I47C.

Taiyo Yuden -R 16x (TYG03) sold by Panasonic
PX-708a, FW 1.12
Burn speed 4x CLV, no slowdown

Good old 708a knowing how to use -R 16x media. A bit higher PIE values but very regular and nothing critical. This from a batch of media that shows higher PIE values in the 755 and 760 drives too.

Proof that some 16x media can be burnt @ 4x with great results (higher speeds don't yield results as nice)

Got a box of 10x5-packs of Maxell 4x -R printables off ebay. These discs are MIJ of course, have the short serial numbering system and have a stack ring on top and bottom, which suggests they were made on the premium lines. Honestly, it doesn't look like there is any advantage to 4x media.

Apart from the spike (probably a mechanical defect of the disc, can you do a FE/TE test?) Jitter is very nice IMHO (TA=5). Same as here http://club.cdfreaks.com/showpost.ph...&postcount=116 . I rarely see beyond 4 when burning 12x or 16x.
