Have you tried using PlexUtilities to update the firmware?

Hey, wasn't sure how to edit post, but anyway, I found this on the Steinberg support site. I hope it helps.

It looks like something to do with your ASPI drivers.

Installed new wnaspi32dll
DMA is OK
No update for Plex 850SA (FW 1.05)

Driving me crazy???

So PlexUtilities (and the rest of the system, hardware manager) finds the drive?
