| Thanks for reporting this. The changelog is rather slim: "Improved media compatibility." which probably indicates an updated media list. |

| No, it's for the 810SA only. The SA and UF variants are two entirely different drives. The 810SA is based on a Pioneer (212), the 810UF on a LG (H44N). BTW: The 810UF has been released after the appearance of the lastest FW for the LG H44N (RB01). Since LG hasn't released any new FW since, the 810UF is very likely running on the base of RB01 or an even later version already. Since the H44N has been shown to have problems that apparently aren't present on the 810UF the UF may indeed be more up to date. |

| It seems Pioneer just has released FW 1.24 for the 112/212 series of their drives. It looks like the appearance of 1.01 for the 810SA was no coincidence  Want proof? Changelog from Plextor Europe: "Write performance on CD-R media " Changelog from Pioneer: "CD-R Writability has improved." | This means that Plextor doesn't programm their own firmwares. This is bad as there will be (aside from the writings on the front bezel) absolutely no difference to the Pioneer drive. So anyone could buy the Pioneer instead.

| I have problems upgrading my two PX-810SA's. After 10-23% I get this error: "Failed to update the normal part." And then the drive is unaccessible until I do a power down of my PC. Same error on both drives. Anyone else with this experience ?

| Just to inform you, I got the firmware upgrade to work - I just had to change the SATA ports from "AHCI" to "IDE" mode, while running the upgrade. Now I'm back on "AHCI" and everything is fine. /// ODD Firmware Update Utility Ver2.50B Start updating the device No.1. | Hi all, I'm planing to buy an 810UF. Is it realy as good as I here? I have 2 716a drives. 1 died,1 going strong. Bout 3 trs old. So ,....Hm...To buy or not to buy? Thanks |
