How to downgrade

Plextor Writer Discuss, How to downgrade at CD, DVD and Blu-ray Writers forum; Hey guys, Yesterday I upgrade my px-708a to 1.02 version firmware. But now I got problems with burning do you know how I can get to 1.01 version?? I tried but I had errors the program said firmware update error!! somebody there who coould help me? stony

    did you get the 1.01 firmware from here? Just doubleclick on it and follow the instructions.

    Hmm, it seems a little odd to me that they would prevent you from downgrading to a previous firmware version. It's almost like they removed something that was present in Versions 1.00 and 1.01 and don't want you to be able to go back and use it. Does anybody know why they did this.

    Yes I do. Plextor has disabled the downgrading of the firmware because version 1.02 uses certain memory settings which, if the firmware were downgraded again, would cause the write quality to decrease. They haven't disabled anything in v1.02.
