    I'm not sure if this makes sense? I do not have any quality problems using my Premium II. My Premium II is in an external enclosure with internal PSU and I do not have any problems so far. If your Premium II has problems with the power quality you should check your PC PSU and replace it.
    I do not think that a battery power supply will increase the burn quality a lot. It is more important to use a quality media.
    Look the last few posts of Gagl, an average C1 of 0.1 is more than good.

    Your second question if this is possible, why not. If you know enough about electronics you can try it. You need only the 12V and 5V power line. But it is also necessary to stabilisize the voltage also if you use batteries. A batteriy has a higher voltage if the charge is high and a lower voltage if the battery is soon empty.

    I think the reason that i would like it to run on batteries could be the same for you to have it in a seperate box away from the noisy PC (power) environment.
    Or am i wrong?

    So i'm looking for a clean powersupply for the Plextor.

    Just to try it out.

    An other batch of "Sony Supremas", I burned a few of this media and the results are great, avg. C1 between 0.1 and 0.5

    This 50pc pack of Sony disks is ~3 years old...

    BTW: The audio CD I copied for my car is the soundtrack of "Monty Pyton - Life of Brian"

    When I made the first few burns I was also surprised when I saw the scans. I do not make any special settings with my Premium II .... just burn.

    Unfortunately my wife throws the paper of the cake box away, therefore I can't tell you where the media was made. The media itself looks exactly like the supremas I had (printing on media color of dye - color is silver I guess that is typical for Sony CD-R).

    The box is looking like this one. In Germany typical green Sony CD-R cakebox.
