LG DVD writer cannot be activated.
I have a LG GSA-4120B which is said it is not activated by Windows. When I try to activate it, Windows says is cannot activate. I heard it is possible to recover the drive firmware with MTKFLASH and I have downloaded it. But the problem is it asks for a binary file, which I do not have nor know where to get it. If someone could please help me whith this problem I would be very grateful. Thank you.

Hi,
Is there anyone who have got a LG GSA-4081B to work with 900 MB CD´s (the disc info only display 716MB free space) when i try to burn Infiniti 99min/900mb CD´s.
I upgraded the Firmware to A104 but that did not make any change?!.
Or is it a SW issue I only got the burning sw. that came with the device, and yes i do know that there are "better" sw´s. on the market, but i dont want to buy an other sw if it wount help :-)

Hi franz99. Good question. If you go to the devices tab on the front page and look up your drive, you will then find the latest firmware for your drive on the "more info" page. If it's not there, you can submit the link to the latest firmware yourself and after it has been approved by the front page staff, it will be displayed in the future attached to the device, as submitted by yourself.

Looking for firmware for a Hitachi Lg GSA-H10A DVD / CD rewrite so that I can flash it back to its orignal state.Right now I am locked into region one and cant watch movies from any other region.Thanks, Vijay Jaidka

Vijay Jaidka, you will find an RPC1 and Auto Reset version of the H10A firmware here:

You can also use the H10N firmware JJ11 as well.

But there aren't any firmware updates for your player/changer at the moment.

Hey All
I have a Plextor PX-130A DVD-ROM, it was working fine till I updated the firmware to 1.03 [the official one] and it's malfunctioning since then
Cannot find the stock 1.01 anywhere... also tried 1.02 and the mods provided by other websites. What am I supposed to do? any help will be highly appreciated.

I thought I would be more exact on the "malfunction" thing.
Well, the tray usually won't open unless I press the button 4-5 times! ( I had an A-Open which had the same problem with the stock firmware, and even after I upgraded it )
It won't read some CDs and DVDs which are recognized normally in my NEC DVD-RW, and even in the Plextor itself, before the firmware upgrade.
I should mention that the PX-130A was the best DVD-ROM I ever saw... it was flawless. Such a shame
Now... what do you think ?
