| video scrambled on home dvd player. nec 3540A Hi all. I have had mixed results with my nec 3540a burner. some dvd's work in the home dvd player and some do not. when they don't work, the screen flickers or scrambles. it's like the vertical hold on the tv is off like on the old TVs. on the older dvd player it does not even play the disk. it works in the 3540a drive on the pc and my older laptop. i have tryed burning on dvd-r and +r as well as burned in iso format and video_ts with several different programs, but i get the same result. this has happened with two seperate dvd titles. i'm just sick of making coasters. any ideas?? |

| Re: video scrambled on home dvd player. nec 3540A Make sure your are playing the disc on equipment that supports the broadcast standards in which the discs were encoded. It sounds like you are trying to play an NTSC or PAL format disc on equipment that does not support it. You cannot play an NTSC disc on equipment setup for PAL and vise versa.

| Re: video scrambled on home dvd player. nec 3540A the disks were created all the same way with a variety of different programs. the dvd player i am using is supposed to be a region free player, and will display both ntsc as well as pal feeds. |

| Re: video scrambled on home dvd player. nec 3540A I once had a disk that did this on my home dvd player even though it played on my computer. It turned out that the download wasnt completed even though all the files said 100%. So try to re-download it and see if it still says it is completed. |
