| Back in the old days, I tried this once. I found that Outlook Express was far from a good program to be used for this. NewsBin (pro) was recommended to me at the time.

| Download winrar , then quickpar , then grabit and enjoy the pleasures of usenet.

| Here are some basics of usenet. I am not going to tell you all about Usenet, mainly because I would be typing for hours. (NG = newsgroup) Agent, Newsbin Pro, Xnews are decent newreaders. I would recommend Agent to a person new to usenet, however nbpro is pretty straight forward and you can keep multiple newgroup servers in the list. Most ISPs have usenet access as part of the accounts sold to customer with there internet access. Sometimes the ng's are not are there because they are filtered out or are just broken files everywhere. A premium ng service usually doesnt have this. Make sure you have plenty of hard drive space when you start this journey. Here is a link to the abme faq.(Yes this is to the erot groups, but the knowledge is abundant and applies to the rest of them as well. Just one more short - Par and Par2 are parity files./ Here is the link http://abmefaq.net/

| you need these free (shareware) applications : xnews, winrar, quickpar and codecs (use them too in that order) of course, you'll also need access to a news server, which is likely provided by your ISP. oh yeah also broadband internet access; dialup is too slow to be of real use (unless you have a lot of time on your hands). You learn more about binary newsgroups and downloading binaries from the usenet at: www.canadianalien.com which is a tutorial on using the binary newsgroups cheers |

Though commendable you want to help users, but this is very close to, if not already, considered spam...and we don't like that here.
