Other people can use it to register a pirate copy of Nero & then Ahead (the company that writes Nero) will blacklist the serial. The next update release (and all following releases) will disable your copy of Nero and anyone else using that serial number.

Thanks debro!

Could you please tell me how to remove it from the forum? or could someone with authority delete the post? (I'm not sure how this works)...

Cheers!

I've already PM'd a mod/admin to remove it (the serial) for you.

You have 30 minutes after any intial post to go back and edit
There is an "Edit post" button below all your posts (less than 1/2 an hour old).
It gives you an opportunity to correct spelling errors, or re-phrase questions / remove serials, or fix any mistakes that you have made, or add new related information missing from the intial post

There is also a "reason for editting" box above when you edit your posts. This is an opportunity to make everyone laugh, it should be filled out with a humourous phrase ...
It will appear below the psots (see below). *Editted*

Gotcha!

Thanks for the info debro (and for getting it removed for me)! You're the best!

It's on there about 3 times as far as I know...

It would have been nice if someone had informed me of this 2 weeks ago when I posted the first time...Some people here speak of being "polite" and saying please, yet they can't even inform someone in a newbie forum that they've posted something that is potentially harming for them. Oh well...Just goes to show ya that everyone makes mistakes

Your serial number of Nero was showing, so everybody could take it and use it illegally.
I removed it for you to prevent abuse.

Hi _Chef_

Am I missing something? The only time you said anything about Serials in this forum was #46 and I made it clear (post #47) that I didn't understand what you meant and you didn't respond.

You never told me to contact a mod, it was debro who did...

I guess the important thing is that I know now!

Yup, that's important. Maybe I've mixed your post up with another one - can happen.

(If yes, sorry about that.)

No worries _Chef_, I'm sure you've got a lot of posts going at once! I really appreciate your help with everything.

I'm hoping those serials get removed soon Post #1 and #5 still have it on there.

If you think of anything else to possibly solve my burner problem I'd appreciate any new information.

Thanks again to everyone for all your help on my issue.

Ciao for now,

NiceLala

That's exactly right! It's supposed to be "multi drive" but now has somehow switched and only works with DVD-R and not +R like it used to...

It's got me stumped, but at least now I know I can burn -R. It's just strange that it would all of the sudden switch which media it likes...

I am living in France for the moment but when I get home I'll probably take it in because my computer is still under warranty in Canada.
