I found a Siergio Leone Western not avaliable in the US, Fist Full of Dynamite, the USA title.

Since I've been using DVD Shrink, set to region free burns, along with DVD Decrypter, fixVTS, and Nero 6xx, I bought it from the UK, figuring I just back it up and convert the back up to region free to view it.

Well, the original and back up play fine in my PC (the DVD drives recognize any region), but my Sony Digital Video Player, NS775V doesn't like either the original (no surprise), a region free back up, or a region 1 back up. On a long shot, I tried a back up using RIPIT4ME fed into the other programs.

Of course, region free backs up of region 1 DVDs play fine in the NS775V.

Using the same DVD drive, NEC 1770, and Verbatium DVD+R media.

I assume the problem that the region 2 DVD is PAL?

Any way to convert it to USA NTSC with in RipIT, Decorder, fixVTS or Shrink?

Bob

PS: Tell me again how we benefit from Region codes? ;-0

Not by the mentioned programs. I have no idea what program converts PAL dvd's to NTSC dvd's.

There's a "patch" method to fool the DVD player into thinking that it's an NTSC disc which might work. Check this link .

Tried the patch--No Joy

DVD Shrink doesn't like the patched files; burned something with ImageBurn which ran fine in my PC, but alas, not in the Sony NS770.
