Hey guys. Having an issue here. Just got my new rig built, and I can\'t seem to get this drive to burn a DL disc. I had this drive installed on my old rig running XP MCE 2005, P4 3.2gHz, 4Gb RAM and it worked fine. My Current specs are:

Vista Ultimate x64

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600

8Gb Corsair XMS2 RAM

Sony DVD-ROM DDU1615

Plextor PX-740a

As I said, this drive worked fine in my old rig, but for some reason, just won\'t burn DL discs. And it\'s the same exact package of discs that I have burned successfully from before. (I don\'t go through a lot of DL ) I have the error log from Nero below. Oh, the discs themselves, which have burned successfully before, are Memorex DVD R DL. Any help here would be greatly appreciated. Oh, and I have searched around and I\'m 99.99% positive I have the most recent firmware installed on the Plextor.

I'm not real great reading these Nero logs anymore but i'll take a stab at it.

Seems all your hard drives DMA is off. So check that out. (Some SATA HDD's show DMA is off when it is actually on in Nero logs.)

Also you have (yes i know you have used those discs before) key medium error's which mean your media is crappy. Most members here recommend Verbatim DL's only.

One more thing. That drive is/was made by BenQ. It's a BenQ 1640 i believe. If you care to cross flash it that's another thread. I found with my Vi$ta 64 bit i could not crossflash my Plex 740A to BenQ 1640. I had to use my older XP 32 bit build.

I have a Plextor 740A in my Vista 64bit rig and have no issues and mine is not flashed to a BenQDW1640 either. I also have a real BenQ DW 1640 installed also. Its not Vista 64 bit that is your issue.

Hey, thanks for all the advice guys. I ditched those Memorex DL's and grabbed a few Verbatim DL's from a friend and used those. Worked perfectly. Not one error. Horray! I can finally watch discs 3 & 4 of Season 2 of Dexter without skipping!
