a problem with pinnacle studio 12

hello everyone,
i have a problem with pinnacle studio 12.
i added menus with backgrounds pictures to my film and when i see the movie in dvd the picture is really blur only in the lower part.

hello matrix man i have a similar problem. not a blured backgroynd more like a pixelized picture. have you found out a solution?

Need a lot more information to figure this out. Where did you video come from? What format did you capture with? what encoding options did you select?

I am having this same exact problem too!! I have no idea how to fix it and i was making an x-mas present DVD for all my friends and now thanks to this problem I can't... and the worst thing about it is, the people at Pinnacle have been NO help what so ever.

Just bought the Pinnacle Studio movieBoard12..Should I be having any problems using an old WinXP 32BIT Pro SP2 OS? Will upgrading to the new Windows7OS, and the addition of more memory help? (currently XP only allows 3.3GB RAM.

Yes I am a newbie,not a professional Author/editor. Don't want to spend hundreds,just a decent program to capture I guess to AVI, then edit,add some transitions,but not cheap looking,then encode to I guess .mpeg as the final output. So far, only capturing Audio is coming into the studio, no video. So I also don't know if it's going to be properly synced, as I heard problems with pinnacle can do. I have posted last night ( rivrbyte ) in more detail in this edit forum. I like to dabble and be a little creative,but Canopus and Adobe's premier is overly expensive as is difficult for newbies to handle I have heard.
A friend of mine uses
Roxio VHS to DVD USB ,transfer VHS tapes to computer, creates DVD's/YouTube stuff with Pinnacle 12 and burns to DVD's using Roxio, and they look decent. I already have nero9. have heard Roxio and NERO is only good for burning CD's, not for capture or edit. As you can see...this newbie is mesmerized by all the choices.

Did not mean to hijack this page, Just need to know if i should return this Pinnacle Studio Movieboard12, and take all my VHS camcorder tapes to Costco and have them burn to DVD. Thanks!

Your hardware specifications are more than adequate for capturing video from VHS tapes. I'm not a fan of Pinnacle, but it should be able to do this for you. This Pinnacle card comes with its own software yes? Are there any trouble shooting tips in the Help files?

What connector or connectors are you using as input? Going from a vcr, I'd use the composite connectors rather than the svideo.

Yes software came with this PCI card. PINNACLE STUDIO 12.
Since this old analog (1997 JVC) camera has only RCA jacks and no S-Video, that's what I'm using to connect.

Connections are from Analog CamCorder video out into Pinnacle PCI Video-In. The sound is from camcorder Audio to onboard Sound card LINE-IN. I'm using a red and white 2-plug RCA plugs, just one white to white (not the red) and the sound is one red RCA from camera Audio into a RCA L- R audio plug to a speaker jack line-in.
Now I'm thinking maybe I should return this Pinnacle too.
