Problem burning with dvdfab (dual layer)...

| I currently am using DVDfab Platinum (version 3.0.1.0) along with my DVD burner (Sony DRU-810A). I was having no problems burning single layer DVD-Rs (Sony brand) but then decided that I'd like to burn dual layers especially since that was what my DVD drive was designed for. I first bought the FujiFilm brand and it couldn't be recognized. I later read that you should just buy Verbatim and that the Fuji ones are made by Ritech and are garbage. After bringing the Verbatim DVD+R DL's home, I am having the same issue where after the dvd is done being transferred and the burning begins I get a message saying "No media inserted / Please insert a compatible media to start the write process." I am choosing the DVD9 option under the DVD to DVD burn option. Please let me know if I am missing something because this is confusing and frustrating. Thanks in advance. Also, I was wondering what the difference is between clone and full disc burning with DVDfab platinum? |

| Have you updated your firmware for your writer?  |
| Use another burning program (DVD Decrypter) see if you get the same result. |
| I checked on-line and found my firmware to be the most updated (Sony DRU-810A 1.0e). I tried using another piece of software ( clonedvd2) and am running into the same problem. Is this a possible problem with the Verbatim discs? Or a setting on the Sony DVD drive itself? |
| As I said before try to use DVD Decrypter for burning D/L disc and see if the problem goes away. |
| I tried using DVD Decrypter (by decrypting the dvd to the hard drive and then converting it to an iso image). When I try to burn the iso image using DVD Decrypter I get the following message. | I did have some virtual drives involved (through Daemon tools). I have recently uninstalled those. Should I try again or does this have nothing to do with it? |

Bought new burner. benq1650 & used new burning program IMGburn. Dont know whether it was a combination of the two or not. All I know is that is the first time a dual layer would play on my dvd player. They would always play on my computer. Everbody kept telling me to set my booktype to dvdrom. I was doing that. I think that most of it was my writer but not for sure. I know it is frustrating t spend that much money for DL disks and then they wont work. I would try IMGburn it is free. |
