Power problem with Magnavox MWR20V6

Purchased the Magnavox MWR20V6 about a month ago. Have recently experienced a problem with the power shutting off automatically. I turn the unit on and in less than a minute the power shuts off. Seems as if it is trying to eject a VHS tape but there isn't any in the unit. Also happens when I go to the DVD mode. I get a picture and stations on the tv but within a minute the power shuts off. Any suggestions on a fix for this problem.

try a different power socket in your house hold to see if the problem is still there. If so I would try to exchange the unit or contact the manufactuer.
