Welcome to the forum

Yes, you can burn an ISO image on a DVD, but the support will remain a DVD

Yes but realize when you put your CD ISO content into DVD then you won't be able to play that DVD disc in CD player you have to have DVD player for player it.

Re: Stoopid question (probably!)

The reason I ask i sthat I am trying to install Ubuntu on my machine and just keep having to use new CDRs. I have a DVD/CD burner so I will give it a go. Can anyone recommned some good freeware/open source software for WinXP to do the job?

Thanks again,

Tim

Or you could just request them to send you a CD. It takes a couple of weeks.

You can also use Nero as Demo or DVD Decrypter for burning.

Along the same lines as the OP, and this might be a stupid question, but is it possible to burn multiple CD ISOs onto a single DVD?

You do realize this thread is three years old? I believe you can burn multiple iso images as DATA but you would have to mount them with something like Daemon Tools. I don't know what you want to do or what the image files are.

Blank CDs and DVDs don't have restrictions on what you burn to them as long as they will fit. The same should be true with your burning software and drive. So yes, you can burn multiple ISO files to a DVD.
