Please Help! - Burning with Nero 7 Ultra Edition + Vista - Error

I have just bought a new computer and, much to my dismay, one cannot purcahse a new computer without vista. At the time that seemed ok (then again, i didn't know any better) - but ever since i've been using vista i've encountered one problem after another.
By a happy coincidence, i found this website and i hope that you can help me with the problems that i have had in burning avi files to dvd (also ISO, WMV and MP4, if possible, to DVD) with NERO 7 Ultra Edition. I talked to tech support at nero and had to upgrade from nero 6 because it wasn't compatible so i don't know whether or not that has anything to do with this - but even so, i get to 99% complete and i get a message that says that the buring process has failed. Some of the error messages that i get are:

I could not find anything that has been posted addressing these issues.

Is this on a Dell? Some of the burners sold through Dell are getting poor user reviews.

What type of disks are you using? It would help if you could download DVDIdentifier or use Nero CD/DVD Speed and tell us the MID (manufacturer id code). Look under the Disk Info tab in CD Speed.

What speed are you burning the disks? If you are using 16x or max speed now, you might want to slow down to 12x or 8x.

You could also try a different conversion program. DVDFlick is free to use, or you could try the trial of ConvertXtoDVD

It looks like a connection issue, but there is too less info from the log.........
