Received some fantastic advice from the aptly named SaintBaz a couple of years ago about cleaning the spindle on my Panny. Have done this now a few times, and has always worked a treat - and saved us from throwing the thing in the bin!
It started to grind again a few days ago, so followed the trusted cleaning advice - but this time it didn't work!  Took it apart again, and again cleaned. Still made a grinding noise. Did this a couple more times. Still same result. 
Am going to have another try this morning, but was wondering whether there was any way to transfer the titles on the HD to an external HD. I've noted in other forums that the Panny only has an 'inwards DV', not outwards. Would this mean I can't transfer the titles?
Any help would be wonderful. I have titles on this Panny that are one-off videos of the kids that we had salvaged from the Brisbane flood, and also footage of the flood itself. In amongst the general cleanup over the months, I stupidly forgot to dub these titles to DVD.
