Please Help: OPTIARC DVD-RW AD7563A ATA Device Region Protection

Newbie Forum Discuss, OPTIARC DVD-RW AD7563A ATA Device Region Protection at Community forum; Hi, i´m From Brazil and my notebook is the Gateway P-6831-FX equiped with one OPTIARC DVD-RW AD7563A ATA Device. But when I try to view DVD movies from Brazil, region 4 (i think), the DVD hangs on the copy protection. Anyone from here knows how to fix this problem? A

Hi,

i´m From Brazil and my notebook is the Gateway P-6831-FX equiped with one OPTIARC DVD-RW AD7563A ATA Device.

But when I try to view DVD movies from Brazil, region 4 (i think), the DVD hangs on the copy protection.

Anyone from here knows how to fix this problem? A firmware without region copy protection?

DVD in Brazil is region 4. If your DVD player is set for same region that DVD is from, it will play. Copy protection has no play in this, it is only for DVD copying.
If DVD is coded for different region, than once inserted, windows will ask if you want to change a region on your player.
You have 4 chances and after that DVD player is stuck on last change, so this is not recommended.
I do not think there is a hack for Optiarc DVD player. You may get software solution for this, just search net for it.
