Optiarc DVD RW AD-7530A ATA Device

I have a new Advent 7211 laptop.
I seem to be having a problem with the DVD RW (Optiarc DVD RW AD-7530A ATA Device)
In Device Manager it is showing that the device driver is either missing or corrupt. Does anybody have any idea where I can download this driver from. I have searched high and low for it, with no result. Email me @ michaelball123@yahoo.co.uk if you have any suggestions.

Thanks

Mj

Hi there, welcome to CDF

Before I move this thread to the Newbie forum, I'll ask what OS you're using?

hello,

Have you managed to sort your problem with your cd drive? I have the same message with my cd drive which is the same make and model as yours. I'm running Vista on an Acer Asprie. This is the second time I have had this fault, the responce from Acer support when I had the 1st fault was to back up my system and re-install my harddrive. It worked but only for a few months. Is there any other way to solve this????

Thanks,
Lee

Re: Optiarc DVD RW AD-7530A ATA Device

Hi, I've got the same problem and nothing I try is working... I've had about a dozen friends searching for methods and downloads to fix the problem but the only likely one is going to a file in regedt and deleting a couple of things, only problem is that the things I should delete to get it working aren't in the part of regedt I'm supposed to delete them from, and I don't want to go deleting from random parts of regedt else I could screw up more.

Any way, I'm using the same DVD RW but on a philips and with vista, and I'm getting the same error, Code 39, for those intrested.

Instead of e-mailing it to me, might I suggest that should someone find a safe place to download the driver for "Optiarc DVD RW AD-7530A ATA Device" that they post it because the second link when searching "Optiarc DVD RW AD-7530A ATA Device" on google lead to this page.

Hi
Check in the sub forum dedicated to these drives (Nec & Optiarc):
http://club.cdfreaks.com/forumdisplay.php?f=86
Liggy & Dee have a site with firmware and know everything about these drives, so if you don't find there you can open a thread to get help.

Re: Optiarc DVD RW AD-7530A ATA Device

I have the same drive in a Gateway laptop running Vista, but I do not get a error code in device manager. Device manager is saying the device is working. However, when I put a DVD in the drive it just spins up and clicks;and then tells me that I need to insert a DVD. This drive worked good for awhile.I have uninstalled the drive and reinstalled it with no sucess.I would just order and new drive but I'm currently working in Afghanistan for the US Army and that's not as easy as running down to the local computer shop. Any ideas on how to trouble shoot it further?Help please as there is NOTHING to do here but watch movies in the evenings!

Gateway is not Acer.

You need to contact the HP support.

Re: Optiarc DVD RW AD-7530A ATA Device

BEHOLD THE SOLUTION! As late as I may be, and you may already have came across this but here goes -

I have an Optiarc AD-7530A in a gateway laptop running Vista, the bugger doesnt appear in My computer at all, so I followed the steps on this microsoft link - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314060
following from -
Method 2: Manually delete the registry entries

and it appeared. Even though it states XP, the process is still the same.

Hope it works for you too!

Later!

Re: Optiarc DVD RW AD-7530A ATA Device

Arnieo,
Thank You! This is my first visit to your forum which I found by googling Optiarc DVD RW AD-7530A ATA Device and your instructions worked. I too have a Gateway with Vista and after deleting the registry entries, my DVD is up and running! Gateway Support was no help at all - they wouldn't give me any information less I pay for online support and my laptop is just over a year old. Again, thank you!
