Newbie Forum Discuss, No supported dvd-recorders were detected on your system at Community forum; Can anything work for me today. I have a pioneer dvr-108 "dvd/cd writer" it burns dvd's at 16x and below speeds I just got it installed, i had a bad cable. I switched cables and now when i use roxio to burn it, it says no supported dvd recorders were

    I have a pioneer dvr-108 "dvd/cd writer" it burns dvd's at 16x and below speeds
    I just got it installed, i had a bad cable. I switched cables and now when i use roxio to burn it, it says no supported dvd recorders were fond on your system.
    The cd burner in it works, the dvd rom works, cd rom works but the dvd burner won't work. I double clicked the dvd drive and it says no disc is in.

    I have tried dvd-r's and dvd+r's, neither work. I have gone to the website but whenever i try to send them my problem it gives me some lame error msg so i cannot even ask them a question. All my firmware is up to date and i cannot find any driver downloads at the website either. For some reason the burner came with NO cd's to giv eme installation software for the dvd burner. I would have assumed i would have been given a cd with drivers and/or some other kind of software. Is this the problem or is ti something else?

    The 108 is an OEM drive which means it comes with nothing but the drive itself. The retail version which comes with all of the extra stuff is the A08. Anyways, have you tried removing and re-installing the drivers? What version of Windows are you running?

    the website had no drivers for download, i amd using windows xp. I don't believe i have any drivers for this installed. so how am i supposed to uninstall/reinstall. I went to add hardware and it says the drive itself is "working properly".
