| I have purchased a Toshiba Satellite P200-ST2071, which happened to come with the Pioneer DVR-K17LF... NowI have been using this machine for a while now (about half a year). I was burning DVD's using Nero 7 with no problems. I have used various media (NEXTTEK, Sony, Verbatim, Dynex, among others [DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD+R DL])... So for about half a year I haven't had any problems. Lately however I tried burning a dvd with nero 7 and it got to 7% and voila I got a coaster... But heres the thing... I reinstalled nero tried burning a different dvd compilation and that one came out fine. So I tried the one that failed the first time again and it failed once more. After this nothing worked... I tried IMG Burn, different Media... all to no avail. So today I try installing Roxio EMC 10 and here's what happened: It managed to burn all the data "4.4 gb out of 4.4 gb" however the progress bar was only about 75% full and it said 7 mins remaining. The DVD popped out and Roxio gave me a DVD recording error... it said something about the DVD being dirty, so i tried a couple more dvd's and all the same result... Now when I tried playing one of those dvd's the menu did load very slowly and it did play, but that it would glitch up... I'm thinking that it might be because Roxio didn't close the DVD properly... but then I'm confused because it seems that the Drive isn't functioning as well as it did once... O and btw CD burning and DVD RW buring is functioning perfectly... Thanks |

| Welcome to the forum! ![]() Any chance you could try another burn with Nero, and post an error log? You should be prompted to save one if (when) the burn fails. It'll give us a better idea of what's going on during the burn. Thanks
