Hello all, im having problems with my hp 630i
been using it for a while now, and in the last couple of days, its giving me RPC errors. I read somewhere that prc errors are caused by a couple different reasons, ie dirty disc (they are all very clean by the way)
damaged media
or failing drive
it says that my drive is region locked
i am in canada
and the disks im burning are from here, so im totally confused!!!!
if anybody has ANY ideas at all
please HELP!!
could it be the dvds im trying to copy (they are copys themselves by the way)
Are the problem and not just my imagination?
Thanks for any advice

I'd try a copy of AnyDVD (21 Day Free Trial from slysoft.com) if you haven't done that yet... not sure exactly what you are experiencing here. Detailed information would be very helpful.

Do you mean crc errors?
And do you've tried dvddecrypter, there's an option to ignore read errors! -

The Error is from anydvd
WARNING
Failed to read dvd!!
This could have several reasons:
1-dvd media is dirty
2 dvd media is damaged
3-your drive is a region locked RPC2 drive, which does not allow reading of scrambled sectors from a different region and you try to read a dvd from a different region.
known driveshaving this problem are RICOH/PHILLIPS DVD writers and Matshita/Panasonic dvd readers and writers.
You can try to find a PRC1 patched firmware at http://www.rpc1.com
4-your drive is an RPC2 drive that has not yet been assigned a Region. Try to assign one, or try to find a RPC1 patched firmware at http://rpc1.com
im confused
the disk is very clean, no scratches at all
ive never had this warning before, and have burnt MANY discs without problem
the dvd im trying to copy, is actually a copy itself, could the problem be with that burn? Could it be that that media is bad?
could it be my drive failing? is there anything built in to the drive that says after like 300 copies STOP WORKING!!
im confused, have had NO TROUBLES to this point, and now i am dumbfounded
please help....

It could be caused by media of lower quality, second don't worry there
is nothing in your drive that says stop copying after 300!
As i said do you try dvddecrypter to rip the dvd, an alternative, if the data
is corrupted or bad media, is IsoBuster or Unstoppable Copier.
