Okay here is the problem, I have a DVD with BUPs, IFOs, and VOBs. I have used DVDFAB6 and DVD43 to copy it to my harddrive. I also edited the movie a friend gave me and made an mpeg out of it. Now all those other files are VOBs so I made the mpeg into a VOB. I have tried to use AVS4YOU software to remake the video and put it on a DVD but it keeps asking for a Chapter/Play doohickey to be created when I have one in a VOB already.

My problem is this besides the one above, it won't let me burn it to a DVD. Says incorrect format or has problems. I am a picture person as far as learning is concerned and there isn't much on the AVS site to show me how to do this. Could you help me with this?

Let me see if I understand what you are asking.

You have one movie, complete, in file form that you have ripped to the hard drive using DVDFab.

You also have an edited mpeg file that you have made into a .vob file.

Are you trying to combine them in some way? Or are you just trying to make the edited file into a separate dvd-video?

The movie is ripped to a VIDEO_TS file folder, I AVS edited the main movie to add some scenes that were extended or deleted. Then I made that main movie into an mpeg. I also had to make the VTS_01_2 to 7 and save them as mpegs.

I am now changing them to VOBs again to use in the previous Video but I also need to keep the original menu on hand and all of it won't burn to a DVD. I am using the whole thing but smaller.

Keep the original menu? I'm not sure that is possible in this scenario.

I'm not familiar with the software you are using, so I'm not able to help with that.

Your best bet is to reauthor your mpegs into a new dvd-video and build a new menu.

If you must have the original menu, try this, de-mux the streams(video and audio) from the ripped flick with PGCdemux..You'll now have elementary streams(i.e. M2v and ac3 audio...Now de-mux the streams from the single Mpeg or vob with DGIndex, again the result will be an m2v and ac3 audio...Now Re-author as previously suggested by Kerry56..Try with Gui for DVDauthor...

For inserting/adding back original menu try this method...

Have fun!...Hope it helps!....And most of all, good luck!..
