Please Help: Memorex dvd-r playing in desktop but not in either dvd player

Newbie Forum Discuss, Memorex dvd-r playing in desktop but not in either dvd player at Starters forum; ok i have memorex dvd-r and dvd+r. they burn succesfully and play perfectly on my computer but both dvd players in my house will not play them one is a symphonic dvd player, and one is a samsung dvd player. both 2-3 yrs old. if that. please help me on

Your players may simply be picky about burned media. You can try burning these Memorex dvds at a slower speed...if they are 16x try 8x speed.

Your best bet is to get better quality media. Memorex is hit or miss at the best of times. We generally recommend Verbatim as a safe choice in media.
Even with Verbatim, choose a moderate burning speed...either 8x or 12x should be good on their 16x disks.

On top of that good advice from Kerry56 I would try to booktype to DVD-ROM as I have both those brands of blank media among a lot others and have never had any playback problems as I always booktype to DVD-ROM on the DVD+R media. For the DVD-R media I would try lowering the burn speed to 12x or 8x and not maximum. here is a link explaining booktype/Bitsetting
