I have tried using a Verbatim DVD+R DL 8.5GB 2.4x And also 2 Philips dvd-r 4.7gb 1-16x My DVD-RW drive is a Matshita UJ-832D and i think it has firmware 1.61 I have read that these drives can be dodgy, i just dont want to waste anymore cash on blank dvds, Was hoping you guys new of a solution or any dvds that are compatible wit the drive, Many Thanks Garrey |

| These Matshita drives have a poor reputation, and deservedly so. The best we can do is point you to some good quality disks and hope they work for you. Try some Verbatim 16x single layer disks, and burn them at less than the top speed for this drive. I wouldn't go any slower than 4x though. Another possibility would be Taiyo Yuden 8x disks if you can find them. You are in Great Britain? SVP carries Taiyo Yuden disks, but they are fairly expensive, and seem to be in 100 ct cakeboxes for the most part. http://svp.co.uk/ |
