| Welcome to CDF, pepsi_deaf  You won't need a driver, Windows should automatically detect it. When you say you can't get it to read a disc, is that blank discs, burned ones, or pressed ones? Could be that the drive needs a clean. Also trying it on another PC might be handy.

| a blank one i bought brand new disc CD-RW this is a brand new SOHC-4832K I can read dvds just won't format so i got disc that don't need format. is there a troubleshooting tool that can check and see if the nero 6.6 cd/rw player is working right. my PC saids that it is working right. so i was wonder if it is in the program 6.6 thanks pepsi |

| A burner doesn't need TO READ vblank media, only to recognize them. Make sure you have suitable media for your burner, this especially counts for RW media.
