Question: LG DVD Recorder (LG RH387H)

I bought a LG DVD Recorder Model No: RH399H/RH387H to record some programs from the TV. I am able to record and watch what i record on LG DVD Recorder only, if i want to view the recorded program on normal dvd player or on my laptop, the player cant recognize the dvd. What am i doing wrong? Please advise me.. THanks

I don't have/use standalone DVR, but did you finalize the disc? That may help...

Exactly. If you use a DVD-R or DVD-RW, you have to finalise first the disc in order to be playable in other drives. How to do it depends on your recorder, each one differs. This is not an issue with DVD+RW though (not sure about DVD+R)...

When I got once such an unfinalised DVD-RW, I used ImgBurn to close session and it worked fine!

Once i insert the DVD+RW or DVD+R the recorder finalizes the disc automatically. I have a bunch of CDs recerded, but only can be viewwd using the recorded. I was thinking of sending the programs, to Malaysia to my family. I really dont know what i shoud do??

_Chef_ is absolutely right, you need to finalise the disc on your LG first, before you can play it on your PC.

I have the LG RHT497H, so my settings may not match yours, or I would talk you through it.
