Thank you for the warm welcome.I've haven't been to any chat rooms before so please be kind. I am 58 years old have been working on computers for about 10 years. I live in the USA in Pa. I taken 3, 140 hours computer courses.I'll get right to the problem, Up till now I have been able to fix my problems. But I have one that I can't fix. I have a dell inspiron 1721 with Vista on it. It was my son who pass away last december. I was trying some new software out. Trying to regenerate a broken HDD. Not knowing anything about who had it before,is where i thing the infection can from. I have tried wiping the hdd with killdisk and boot and nuke and the problem still is there. I even tried installing a different OS I put Linux on it and the same problems still there. The problem is with time zone I can't change it. It stays on GMT 12:00 international date line west. I can't view any on my favorite or bookmarks. I use comodo dragon browser all it does is flashs down for a tenth of a second and in IE it drops down but the slide bar is like it on a spring. It is even effecting window media player. It only plays two song I've tried to get it to play other but it won't. The OS in on a cd that came with the computer. My son bought it new. Thats everthing I have noticed so far. I can see it affecting other things too. Trying to log in is getting difficult. It always take several attempt to login to the computer. I would appreciate any help I can get. Talking to my brother, he thing it's on my motherboard I just don't know. Everything I have read says you can't get a virus on your motherboard. He know someone that says it can and he can write a virus that will get on your MB. I have tried all kinds of software I use Avast free antivirus, Malwarebytes antimalware, windows defend, I went to Trendmicro housecall, I downloaded Kaspersky antivirus removal tool and they all have detected nothing. NO Problems. Trying to research the time zone problem just keep telling me how to change it. I have tried to flash my bios through dell website and it's still there. Thats everthing.

Welcome to the forums wmmania and Twoguntoyoga. Hope you can find some answers here.

@Twoguntoyoga
I'm going to start a thread for you in the General Hardware forum using your post in this introduction thread. Normally we don't like for people to post the same information in different areas, but this thread is really only intended for people to say hello and get started in the forum.

You can find the new thread by clicking on this link: http://club.myce.com/f7/problems-del.../#.UB1SxKMa6nk
