Yeah, I know what you're thinking,"Who the heck doesn't?".
Anyhow, I have recently downloaded a Bit Torrent file from Novell's website.
This ISO file is an evaluation copy of Linux SuSe 64-bit, and is 3.43 GB.
And, as you have already guessed, I would like to know how to make a bootable DVD from this ISO image.
Nero 5.5, which came with my CD-RW, seems to work OK with WindowsXP 64-bit, and I have already created a bootable CD with it for Ubuntu.
But how to create a bootable DVD from this ISO image, that is the question.
Any help, hints, pointers, words of wisdom, tips, tricks, etc., will be deeply appreciated!!

Hi Quietriot

Can you not just burn the ISO with ImgBurn? This is freeware, BTW.

Welcome to the forum

I confirm what said Arachne

ISO files of linux distro are ready to be burned. You need only to burn the file on a DVD. Imgburn is one of the best choices

After you burn the file, the disc is ready to be used as boot disc.

Hehe, you won't be able to burn a DVD image with a CD-RW drive... Mount the ISO in a virtual drive and see if it runs frome there

Hehe, you won’t be able to install Linux from a virtual drive wile Windows is running. One way you can do it is down load a small SuSe Boot CD image burn it on a CD and boot your computer from the CD and start the Installation and point the YaST installer to where you have the DVD image on your C drive and YaST will do the rest.

Thank you for the responses one and all!
coathi, I think I undersatnd what you're saying, but how is YaST going to find the SuSe file on C drive, when C drive will be offline? Isn't the system still in the boot stage booting from the SuSe boot image disk?
What about creating a data DVD from the SuSe ISO, and then loading it after the system boots up? Would that work?

quietriot No when you boot from the CD, it has all the info for SuSE to mount your drives and start the installation so all your drives are active and you have to tell YaST you want to use manual installation and to use the Package Repositories from your C drive where you have the content of your DVD ISO in a folder to install SuSE. You can download your Boot CD image from Here and before you start installing go to the SuSE Help files on Novels web site and have a good look at the instructions on how to do a HD installation . It will give you step by step instructions on how to do it. If you have any problems I will try and write you a guide to do it.

Well do you have a DVD burner to burn a Data DVD? If you can burn a DVD then why don’t you just burn a DVD from your SuSE ISO you downloaded and use it ! It will boot and install SuSE for you. That’s the quickest and easiest way to do it.

I know about burning a Bootable Data DVd, but when I try to get Neros to burn one, nothing at all happens to the DVD nothing!! I thought this might be a firmware issue but AOpen, the maker of the CD burner has no updates and no information at its website!

DVD Image + CD-burner =

You really need to get a DVD-burner or extract the image and do a hard disk install as per coathi's instructions.
