New to this and needing help, PLEASE

I have a dvd-rewriter, and want to get my avi file's onto dvd-r.

I have looked at the guide ( How to convert your divx to dvd-r ).

I already have cucusoft avi to dvd, vcd, svcd & mpeg 1 + 2 converter pro - v3.1.3. And sonic record dx 4.60 for burning. I just want to know if these are any good, before I start downloading any programs.

Or do I just follow the guide to the letter.

oops yes i apologise.
Ulead Moviefactory 2 will do it though though though some films that have been ripped to DIVX may go beyond the 4.3gb disk capacity.

cucusoft mpeg-DVD

I have just bought Cucusoft's MPEG to DVD Burner version 2.01 ... in order to burn mpg/mpeg files directly without going through an intermediary.

IT DOES NOT WORK. The softaware is not fit for the purpose for which it was sold. You will waste your blank DVDs. Having spent nearly two weeks trying to get some sense out of their laughable 'support' department - hosted, it seems, by a bimbo called Kelly - they are refusing to reply to my problem, refusing to refund and generally being the most awful company with whom I have had the misfortune to deal.

I'm a newbie at this, but I managed to do this very thing yesterday at the first atempt

To convert to DVD mpeg I used TMPGEnc Plus 2.5

To author I used TMPGEnc DVD Author

To burn I used Nero 6

Easy peasy

Good luck.
