How to change avi resolution/video size?

Hello!
I have an avi movie, but the video appears "squashed". Is there any way or software that I can use to "stretch" the video vertically so that it appears proportional? Or put shortly, the avi looks like this:



how can I make it like this:

Why don't you view it as you are (using correct AR) on second screenshot(s)...
Try playing it with VLC>open avi>Video>Aspect Ratio> choose correct AR >play

You could use Mpeg4 Modifier, and change the AR w/o re-encoding and save a new avi..Try it..
