How to best clean a finger-print-smudged DVD?

Newbie Forum Discuss, How to best clean a finger-print-smudged DVD? at Community forum; Hello folks, Some one played with my DVDs and got dirty finger-print-smudges all over the burnt surface along with a couple thick blue markers spots, how would I best clean such dirtied surface without ruining the content?     With the disc with soft cloths and very lite dish wahser liquid and then dry it with any soft cloths or cleanex tissue. Also there is Disc cleaning kit that you can buy for this pirpose from any computer retail store.

    Be cautious about any liquid you drop on the disc.
    Toothpaste is sometimes referred as good to treat scratches...so it maybe (?) a solution toy can consider to apply with the soft cotten t-shirt CCRomeo indicated.
    Take care aoubt the "working techniques": straight soft movements from the inside to the outside and no circles around the disc's surface.

    you can use a cotton ball and plain old rubbing alcohol, this works like a charm

    Thank you very much for your great suggestions. I was affraid of introducing and leaving any liquid residues on the discs, so thoughts are much appreciated.

    Warm water, diswashing liquid, gentle rub with a clean chamois...hole to edge... not in circles. Remove from water...rinse in fresh warm water. Shake off excess water. Put a piece of paper towel on a flat surface. Place the disk, printed side up, on the towel. Wait for a minute, then turn the disk over onto a new piece of paper towel....voila!
