How to adjust so my internet will fit my screen

Hey there,
So, my sister did something to my computer, I lost everything. When I finally got it restarted and tried to fix it back to how it was, I couldn't get my screen to display the way it had been. I have a widescreen monitor.
Now, everything is kind of small, the solitaire cards are itty bitty, and when I go to an internet site everything seems smaller, including any online games I play.
Before, I somehow had any website I went to fit my screen like it normally would for a regular box like shaped monitor.
How can I get my things back the way they were?

Hi and Welcome!

right-click on your desktop, select "properties", then in the very right tab ("settings") you should find the option to change the screen resolution.

To prevent such trouble in future, you should set a password for your account and create an own account (restricted users) for your sister. So she can't mess up your settings any more

I've tried that, that was actually one of the first things I tried, but for some reason it still doesn't look the same. :/

But if I can't even get her to use her own internet tab, I doubt she would use her own account.

Hm. The "settings" tab should show, what monitor and what VGA card is used. Could you please give us that information. "Standard monitor" can be accepeted, but it there is also something like "Standard PCI VGA card", then there is a more serious problem.
You might also check if there is an "advanced" button, perhaps some helpful options are available there.

Well, if you have a good password for your own account, then she is forced to use her own.

Just another idea: In case you are running Windows XP or Vista, try a system restore (see Windows help for details).

Okay. That's good, since this indicates the drivers for your graphics card are still present.
