Alright guys, I have another question for you. I flashed my DVD-r and it killed it so I took it back. It was a b-day present and was passed the time when I could get money for it. So know I have a $115 gift card from CompUSA. What would you get ? Below is a link for what they have. I would appreciate any opinions.

Of those, I'd say the Mad Dog dual layer burner. Its a rebadged NEC-2510A. Come with Nero and a two year warranty.

Go with the MADDOG which is really an NEC-2500 or 2510. I hace burned everything from the most scratched up rental disk i could find to the cheapest DVD i could get, and had nothing but good burns and perfect playback. I have an old SONY DVD player and as i'm sure many others will tell you they won't play a damn thing unless it's perfect. Had a couple coasters from my LiteON, and the SONY dru700 is just a repack of a Liteon.

Damn for you buck i highlly recogmend the MADDOG (NEC). I havn't had a I/O DVD burner but the 52x CD and the 48x CD-R i had from them crapped out in less than a year.

Is this just the case for that model. The one i just blew up was a mad dog (not the same model) and was actually an Arctec. Ive heard good things about NEC. So if you guys think its the same I have no problem trying it out. I'd appreciate any other opinions also. Thanks.

A retailer told me (and also some of the plextor forum here on cdfreaks) that some plextor dvd writers have technical problems and that he returned a lot of his drives back to plextor.. maybe he was unlucky who knows ;D..
