Easiest way to backup an xbox game?

Newbie Forum Discuss, Easiest way to backup an xbox game? at Starters forum; Is backing up xbox games the same as ps2 games? so if you had a modded xbox, could you just take the original, use dvd decrypter, and burn the iso onto a dvd-r?

No you can't. This is because a normal optical drive in a computer cannot read Xbox discs. Well, it can read them but it will show some VOB files and not the actual game files. The only way to copy an Xbox game is to read the disc with your Xbox and transfer the files from there to your computer. You will need to have an FTP connection with your Xbox to do this so it has to be modded.

what exactly is that? an extra cable or something?

FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol and basically means that you have a network connection between your Xbox and your computer. This way you can log-in on your Xbox and transfer files between the two. Of course, you will have to connect your Xbox to a network card in your computer by using a crosscable. A crosscable can be bought in any computer shop but do make sure you get a crosscable and not a standard parallel network cable. Here are some links to guides:
