DVD writer will not recognise disc

Have managed to copy most of my original dvd's, except a few that I have a problem with - being when inserted into dvd writer, the writer does not recognise the disc. Is

Hi everybody. As this is my first post, do apologise if it is in the wrong forum. Have managed to copy most of my original dvd's, except a few that I have a problem with - being when inserted into dvd writer, the writer does not recognise the disc. Is there any way to modify the disc to force the writer to recognise it without damaging it? Your help would be appreciated. Nichola.

Hi

You need to give much more details to get useful help: brand/model of discs (also +R or -R), brand/model of the writer, writing speed used, which steps you take etc...

The more information you give, the more help you get.

Right, the dvd in question is Crimson Rivers (legally bought). DVD has only been watched once, not a scratch in site. My dvd writer is a Liteon. Have tried to clean the disc, but no joy. Any other ideas. Nichola

Still not really enough info. For example model #(ie:Liteon SHW-160P6S),firmware. What software are you using. If the software has worked with other discs, then copy protection could be the problem. Try AnyDVD (free 21 day trial). Just double click AnyDVD in my sig, to take you to relevant site.

You don't say what disk you are trying to copy. It could be that your disk copy routine is out of date. Anydvd 5.6.1 used with dvdclone2 should work for you.

Have not had any problems with copy protected dvd's as I am using DVD Decrypter and / or DVD shrink. Have tried in a friend's computer and same thing happens, so I don't think it's my burner. Thanks.
