DVD Recorder with Digital Cable Set-Top Box

I'm very new to DVD recording. So I need help in setting up my digitial cable box with my new dvd recorder so that I can record things like "In-Demand" and so forth.

Is there a typical set up for this?

Depends on the connections that can be used.

Most easiest way is a connection via SCART, but I don't know what other connections are available on your devices.

What do you mean by SCART?

Where are you from? If I recall correctly, I don't think they use SCART cables in the US, for example...(or at least, I had to explain to someone from the US what a SCART cable was awhile back!).

Not?

At least I cannot suggest anything before I know what connections are there...

Re: DVD Recorder with Digital Cable Set-Top Box

I can't vouch for what cables are on Dankinator's set-top, but my digital cable box only has (other that the coax cable): component video, S-video and composite. Audio connections are RCA and SP-DIF.
