| Welcome to the forum ![]() If you are referring to sticky labels, they are well know to cause reading problems because can unbalance the disc and also warp it. There is a thread dedicated to this issue but the general consensus is that sticky labels should be avoided. This issue is further worstened if you are using low quality discs like Princo ![]() The only way to recover your discs is ripping them and burn again on better media without stycky labels. You can use instead printable discs |
| Hi Helen, welcome to CDF ![]() Agree with Geno ...meanwhile, here's some light reading for you:Sticky labels on DVD +/-R discs

| I agree with Geno. The same thing happened to a friend of mine. The only solution was re-burn without labels.

| Thanks for your replies, not the answer i was hoping for. Silly question, how do I get into the shop? there doesn't seem to be an flag for England. Also how on earth do you print on printable dvds? |
| Ah, the CDF shop doesn't cater for England, unfortunately. Most of us from the UK shop at SVP. Highly recommended ![]() And to print on printable DVDs, you'll need a printer that prints to disc. Epson and Canon both make ones that do it.

| Thanks for your help, I guess I'll be adding a new printer to my xmas list! |
| You're welcome - I might consider one in the near future too, but for now I can use my Sharpie (CD pen), or my Lightscribe drive. ![]() Just bought an all-in-one printer/scanner etc, but alas, no disc printing!

| I've just come across clear glossy labels which apparently create the impression of printing directly on the disc, i'm assuming these would be lighter than a paper label, would these be any good? |
| To guaranty that you will not risk to shorten your disc's life it is better not to use labels, so it seems we can conclude from all the opinions that are around. |

I personally use the epson r220, print directly on the disc; gives professional looking results, I am happy! regards, katzz |
