Hello all! I am a newbie to this forum, as well as burning DVDs. I have experience burning cds and experience with computers in general. I got a HP DVD640i (maybe 640e?) burner with lightscribe technology. I installed it about 2 weeks ago and was able to make a few DVDs. Im using Phillips DVD-R 16x discs. I have not been able to make any DVDs as of a few days ago. I should mention im using DVD Flick 1.3.0.4. build 726. If theres a better software I would love to hear about it.

Here is where it stops at. Any words of advice?

Recommended blank media would be Verbatim, (widely available) or Taiyo Yuden, (mostly only available online). General rule of thumb is to burn at half the rated speed of the blank disc, for example 16X burn @8X. Your burn completed, it is the verify that did not complete from what I see. Does this play? FAVC & ConvertXtoDvd are a couple of other programs. I am not up on different drives, how old they are or if there is a firmware update for them, so hopefully somebody with that experience will come alog.

Are the discs readable on the PC? Sounds like a burn issue.

I would start with a different brand/type of media as it's the easiest thing to test. Verbatim or Taio Yuden are preferred.

You can also test the files before burning to verify your software is creating a valid output.
